The time has come to violate a chicken! WHAT?! We are talking about shoving a beer can up the back end of a chicken and then grilling it!
It’s gonna be delicious and your gonna want to try it again!
You can do this in your oven but we are men and we want to grill! So this is for Grilling readers mainly but if you want to try it in the over read this part:
Just place it as directed on an open half-filled can of beer, sitting up, in a roasting pan on the lower rack of your oven. Roast at 350°F until done (about an hour fifteen to an hour and a half for a 4 lb chicken).
For you charcoal or gas grillers – you will want to get a cooking tin from the dollar store and put the can in the center and ever so gently put the chicken on top of the can. For a 4 pound bird we suggest 350°F or 1.5 hours of cooking. For bigger birds – 2+ hours.
INGREDIENTS
1 4-pound whole chicken
2 Tbsp vegetable oil
1 opened, half-full can of beer, room temperature (this means you get to have a reason to drink some beer)
1 Tbsp sea salt
2 Tbsp thyme – ( if you dont know what thyme it is ask someone! – dat is a joke for some)
1 Tbsp black pepper

What is a BBQ or a Tailgate without a grilling sauce? Try this simple recipe and impress your guests with your own homemade sauce.
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- 2 tablespoons onion powder
- 1 tablespoon black pepper
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup ketchup
- 2 teaspoons mustard powder
- 1 teaspoon sea salt
- 1 teaspoon celery seed
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons lemon juice
In a medium nonporous bow (this means one of those metal mixing bowls)l, combine the butter or margarine (be honest you want the butter to be used hear), onion powder, black pepper, water, ketchup, mustard powder, sea salt, celery seed, brown sugar and lemon juice.
Mix well and DONE! Simple right… well now is when you add the BAM factor to the sauce. Add some flavors to make this sauce stand out. Some tailgate guys favorites include honey and Cayenne pepper or teriyaki and pineapples.
No matter how you slice it everyone is going to love this simple made sauce it is up to you to pick the meats and style of cooking.
Happy Grilling!

Everyone loves Jager Bombs! I don’t even mind the occasional Cherry Bomb shot (cherry vodka with energy drink), but the one thing I do mind is when you drop the shot glass into the pint and it splooshes up and makes a mess. Or when some moron at the bar smashes the glass on the table and the shot glass cracks inside or worse yet on their teeth and smashes it in. Big messes = no fun.
That’s why the tailgateguys love these disposable jager bumb cups. Simply fill the outside chamber with the chaser liquid – this would be your energy drinks, juices, even soda. And then fill the inside shot chamber with booze of choice; vodka, jager, rum, maybe even some rumple mintz around the holidays. Raise a glass and make a toast and put it back, no mess and best of all toss it when done. These bad boys are affordable enough and can be ordered in packs of 50, 100, 500.

One of the earliest tailgate games, corn hole known also as corn toss is a game where you toss a bean bag (filled with corn at times) at a game board. Rules are simple get more of your bean bags either to stay on the board or go in the hole in the middle than your opponent.
This is a great lounge around the tailgate game or backyard bbq game for all ages. Check out our full selection from affordable tailgate toss boards to nfl, ncaa, and mlb officially licensed tailgate toss boards and get your own corn toss league going.
Personally I enjoy playing this game with my son and my friends. I recommend setting the game boards far enough away to keep it fun for everyone. We have had a few people who put them too far apart and it is not as much fun. Plus gentlemen – be smart – make the playing field friendly enough for all to play and the ladies will want to ‘team’ up with you. That’s a bonus in this tailgae guys book!
